Understand the working context
A CRM API may offer access to specific records, metadata or actions. The presence of an API does not mean that any external product can connect without development or setup. Someone still needs to handle authentication, permissions, identifiers and errors. A useful integration starts with a precise task and the operations needed to complete it. Ask what the supported interface actually covers rather than treating “has an API” as a complete integration plan.
Put it into practice
- Describe the record or action you need to connect.
- Confirm the supported endpoints and permission model.
- Decide how identifiers map between the systems.
- Plan error handling and a small representative test.
A practical example
An external service needs to read selected customer information. The team checks whether the required fields and scoped access are available, then tests the request with a limited dataset. If the interface does not support a required action, that gap needs an explicit design rather than an assumption.
In the current workspace
Atlas provides a versioned REST API for the implemented application and connector workflows. A complete public integration platform with all bulk and external-ID operations is not currently available.
